Common Birds is a concertina book. The other works are drawings and collage pieces.

Sunday Morning Studio

The studio is crammed full of stuff at the moment. Every addition needs to be carefully thought out. Basically the room is too small for me, so I have to be very ingenious in fitting it all in. But nevertheless it is a space of calm and inspiration, as well as work.

Collaged drawers

All that pattern in Seville and Granada got me hungry for more and so I set about collaging my Ikea drawers with something more inspiring. I think it turned out good. A Saturday well spent with trusty paper and glue.

Alhambra Impressions

A surfeit of pattern, but real harmony. Spaces that are calming and restful. Tranquil courtyards. Icing sugar. Marble and plaster-work like lace. Shadows falling across floors from latticed windows. Vistas of the landscape viewed through delicate arches. the sound of fountains and the smell of jasmine. Kittens playing in the gardens. Palm trees and lavender.

Vintage Fabric Stash..

My Vintage fabric passion knows no bounds at the moment and I have just had these gorgeous lovelies in the post. They are all tiny prints in yellows, orange and brown, and one really zingy large print. I have washed them all now and pressed them and they will be ready for new projects.

Collages..

When I take photos of my plastic peeple I like to out them against nice backgrounds. I always save good pics that I think will be useful and recently I have been making collage backgrounds. Toast catalogues seem to be an excellent source for good atmospheric imagery.
