This week in the Moshi Factory

This week in the moshi factory, I felt a bit like I was working through some biblical style tempest, the weather was crazy awful and the view from my studio window looked out onto torrential rain, giant hailstorms and all the trees and shrubs blowing about madly in the wind. But the moshi-elves did their best to inspire me and I dressed them all up in school uniform style pinafores and little blouses. We have also made some new Annie Hall Style shirt and ties and all this should be in the shop tomorrow, Sunday 29th April. Hope your week was a little more settled wherever you are, and hope the sun comes out soon!

Spring colours and indecision..

This week has been an odd one, I started off with loads of ideas and then got distracted with redecorating my studio. And then once I got down to some proper work I changed my mind about all sorts of things I had planned. It's all come together now, but things I thought would work I was unhappy with and was then oddly inspired just as I was thinking I might go to bed! This is why I take my notebook to bed so that I can jot down any last minute inspiration before the thoughts disappear with sleep.

I wanted lots of flowery spring colours this week and had some gorgeous florals that were just desperate to be sewn, The weather had perked up and there was sunshine in my studio in the late afternoons. I also did a major overhaul of my fabric stash and that always gets me going in fresh directions.

This week's sewing adventures...

Topped up my fabric stash recently, and am waiting for an order of linen to get here. But the colours of some of my new fabrics were so gorgeous together I wanted to try and combine them a bit, so these tunics have a lovely toning flounce with lace. I could wile a away hours of my day playing with fabric and trying out different combinations!
