For Blythecon Europe in Barcelona I made three special outfits for the moshi elves to model on the day. Two of these outfits I am auctioning, but this one is to be raffled. we are moving

After much consideration I have decided to move my blog  here. There are many reasons for this, one being that I really find that I can use it more as a scrap book/noticeboard than blogger and I like the way it looks. It is easy to upload photos and also lets me include other content easily and as a complete ninny in the HTML arena I need all the help I can get. I hope that if you have been kind enough to take  an interest in this blog, that you will not mind having a gander over there and seeing if you like it. I have been busy this weekend filling it up a bit with my back catalogue so that it didn't look so lonely. I will still post shop news there and any other important stuff as and when.

This is a selection of some of the tiny sketches I make when I am planning an outfit. Sometimes I just make the drawing and the dress/outfit never gets made, but it means I can go back and revisit them later. I worry that ideas get lost if I don't scribble them down.

Lily in a romantic mood

I have been recently working on a more romantic feel, with a limited colour palette. Lily is wearing the first dress I made using some really beautiful vintage lace. IT is a one off as I ran out of the dove grey fabric, but it got me thinking about some new shapes and patterns. Hope you like it.

Alpine Wonders Update

I will be posting one of the outfits in my etsy shop later today, at around 7pm UK time.  And another tomorrow, Sunday at around 11am, UK time.

"Alpine Wonders"

A collaboration between MforMonkey and Moshi-moshi

Hilary and Mary have worked together to make this adorable limited edition little set consisting of a pair of delectable Lederhosen, a dinky cap sleeved blouse, cozy felt coat and a gorgeous Tyrolean hat.

There will be two different color schemes available (Yellow and Pink) and only two of each made, giving a total of four sets. To make it more accessible to everybody, we'll be listing them on different places and hours. On Tuesday 26th February one Pink set will be up on eBay for three days, ending on Friday. During the weekend of the 2nd and 3rd March, one Yellow and one Pink will be available at Moshi-moshi's Etsy shop. The last Yellow set will be up on eBay from Tuesday 5th March, ending also on Friday. 

Hope you will like our little project, it has been a lovely experience to work together and I think we've come up with something really special.

Custom Order Update..

Dear Friends,

just thought I would do a quick post about custom orders. At the moment I still have a few left to finish off and then I will be able to take a few more. I am so sorry that it takes me so long to get round to these, but there just aren't enough hours in the day for me to sew and do all the other things I need to do to keep sane and inspired. Please be patient with me. But anyway the upshot is that as so many kind people are interested in my work I will do a special custom order list for a new batch of Rive Gauche dresses. You will be able to choose the fabric for the bodice, but I will match a tie to them, from my huge basket of liberty scraps. I like to make all these dresses unique so will try to keep to this. 

So if you would like to be on the list please leave a comment at the end of this post and the first ten will get a slot. The only proviso is that if you already have a slot on my custom order list or you have had a custom order recently, please don't add yourself again to this list, just to share out the spaces a bit. 

Anyway, if this goes well, I will do it again for Annie Hall shirts later.

New Tricks

Taught myself via the wonders of the interweb to make these this week. This is the finished result and I am so pleased with how it turned out. Busy Bees Patchwork

Busy Bees Patchwork is a new discovery for me. For the past few years I have been going to Bath for my regular fabric fix, unaware that there was a similar emporium of fabric loveliness much nearer to home. Busy Bees is based at Tredegar House on the outskirts of Newport. It was a real treat to find them yesterday and they have a fantastic selection of fabrics and run loads of courses too, which I am tempted by I must say.

So this has been a busy week, the cloudy skies have kept me company as I sewed and inspired my colour scheme too, I think. It seems we are in a cloudy blue and stormy grey kind of mood. Taking a week off...

I am having a little break till 4th Feb, so will be off on my travels tomorrow. I am packing lots of crochet wool and hopefully will be making some sweaters while I am away. January is a month of tedious chores, tax returns to fill in and then tax to pay and I hate sums so this is a real trial for me. So after all that nasty homework I need a little holiday, but I have been busy sewing and thinking so will be ready with my needle and scissors when I get back. See you later alligators xx

its back to work we go! It's 2013, the festivities are now officially over in the moshi house. Everyone is back to work as of yesterday and so let normality reign once more. Hope your holiday was a good one.
